RDG's new comprehensive plan for the City of Brookings, home of South Dakota State University, is a guide for a city experiencing rapid growth within a framework of significant environmental constraints.
The new comprehensive plan addresses the character and development pressures on the Sixth Street corridor, housing diversity, limited development areas, the impact of stormwater on city growth and bridging the gap created by the I-29 corridor. The plan includes a policy guidebook that maximizes compatibility between new development and existing neighborhoods along the corridor and a detailed implementation schedule that identifies responsibilities, funding and timeline.
