This project establishes an area on Central College's campus that can be used to attend to the voices of the past and honor their legacy.
Central College has a history filled with examples of students and staff dedicating themselves to the ideals of our nation through military service. The garden and amphitheater, located in the heart of campus, are an opportunity to honor these stories by giving them a physical space dedicated to remembering Central's history. The challenge in creating a memorial in the heart of campus is one of tone. For a campus as jovial and vibrant as Central, RDG's landscape architects worked to establish a tone for the memorial that honors the memory of prior generations while embracing the lifestyles of contemporary college life.
