Landscape Architecture Overview:
The Deadwood Alive project is a collaborative process including the citizens of Deadwood, the Deadwood revitalization committee, and the consultants. From the study came several basic conclusions; The center of Deadwood is more than the historic segment of Main Street, Deadwood is a sequence of public spaces, each with special attributes and actual or potential roles in the fabric of the City, and community investment in public spaces should serve both community and visitor needs. Deadwood's public space concept includes a sequence of spaces, each beautiful but a little different and connected to one another. A couple of the spaces include a unique multi-use, multi-media event plaza at Main and Gold. This three-dimensional urban space will be the center of event and entertainment activity and will be unlike other spaces in its variety and activity.
