Iowa State University - Jack Trice Stadium Expansion

In this expansion, Jack Trice Stadium increased suite-style seating areas and improved the quality of existing club-style seating areas. Additional seating in the end zone areas create enclosure and accentuate the "home field" advantage. Improvements to the toilet, concession and circulation areas in and around the stadium provide greater spectator amenities/options and heighten the excitement of Cyclone Football.

This two phase project included enhancements to the east and west concourses of the football stadium including replacing restroom/concession buildings, adding several enclosed suites, renovation of club section and the addition of a fire sprinkler protection system. The project included installation of a new chiller, heating and cooling systems for the modified spaces, new fire sprinkler protection system, re-routing the main electrical distribution system, installing new sound reinforcement equipment for the concourses, new services to each of the new buildings and adding functional and decorative exterior lighting systems. Multiple phases were designed to allow construction to occur during the off season and not disrupt the regular season games.

After analyzing the existing signage and wayfinding, our designers added additional sign types and updated the existing sign types to clarify key destinations and their entrances and exits. We presented environmental graphic concepts to enhance the plaza towers and concession area, both of which were added to the scope of work. The updates were designed to coordinate with the existing design style.

Jack Trice Stadium renovations have increased suite-style seating areas and improved the quality of existing club-style seating areas. Lighting within the club adds to the specialness of the space.  Improvements to the toilet, concession and circulation areas in and around the stadium provide greater spectator amenities and heighten the excitement of Cyclone Football. Custom color lenses specified to light the underside of the precast bowl heighten the experience for night games.
