Early Learning Center at Skinner receives LBD Citation of Excellence Award

We are thrilled to have received a Citation of Excellence Award for excellence in educational facility design in the Spring 2018 edition of LEARNING BY DESIGN magazine! The Early Learning Center at Skinner in Omaha, Nebraska has been recognized by the magazine for its architectural and interior design and for having benchmark attributes “worthy of imitation”. A jury of five architects and end-users scored projects on six measures including innovation, community need, interior design, sustainability, functional design, and 21st Century learning.

Jury comments on the Skinner Early Learning Center included: “A very exciting and engaging school. The center commons with lecture hall is unique and daring. High marks for shooting for LEED Platinum. It has a positive impact on the overall design and building planning. Nice sense of scale and light. Irregular plan moves create dynamic spatial opportunities. Color and finish of differing spaces create interest throughout. This project shows the way that space, furnishings, and equipment work together to make for a special and community place.”
