Will Downing, AIA, ACHA brings decades of experience designing technology-rich health care environments across the region.

RDG Planning & Design announced that Will Downing, AIA, ACHA has joined the firm in its Iowa City, Iowa location and will serve as a design leader focused on work for the firm’s Health Care Studio. An American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) Board-certified health care architect, Downing brings more than 27 years of experience designing technology-rich health care environments.

“We are excited to have Will join the firm. He has the skills and talents to collaborate with individuals throughout our organization and is eager to apply his talents and expertise to clients while helping our team advance health care design throughout the region,” said RDG Principal and Chief Executive Officer Philip Hodgin, AIA.

Downing earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Iowa State University. He is actively involved with the American Institute of Architects and serves on ACHA’s Continuing Competence Committee. A strong believer in the power of community engagement, Downing is a member of Iowa City’s Downtown District Legislative Committee and sits on the Board of Directors of FilmScene, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the cultural vitality of the Iowa City area.
