Academy Avenue acts as a gateway connection to neighborhoods, schools, community amenities, and business areas.
The term Academy Arts District began as a desire to create a new downtown and remote economic vitality. The idea has evolved into the creation of a unique town center, building on the energy from the schools, City Park, existing businesses, and a one-of-a-kind coffee shop. The plan focuses on: how does Maize create a special community place that speaks to all citizens, how can the district be a premier community place, what does Academy Arts District mean, and what does it look like? RDG provided urban design, public engagement, streetscaping, and master planning services as the lead firm on the project.
