Principal
Riverwalk
Master Plan
Transformation is planned along four miles of the Des Moines and Raccoon River to bring recreational and pedestrian amenities to the city while improving the public lands of the river corridor.
This plan identifies critical needs and suggested locations for future economic and recreation development. The 1.2 mile Principal Riverwalk Loop is the infrastructural base from which all other attractions are built, to include pedestrian bridges, promenades, multipurpose trails, plazas and gathering space, and flexible event and venue areas.
