RDG designed renovations to allow a state-of-the-art PET-CT machine to be installed in a space that was not originally intended to handle such technology.
The project team addressed multiple special situations to accommodate the specialized requirements for the new machine, from re-routing electrical power and chilled water piping to re-constructing the floor to meet the required floor thickness. Close communication and collaboration among the design team, owner, equipment provider and product representatives - and the willingness of all to come to the table with new designs even after construction had begun - made for solutions that ultimately addressed the challenges, were cost effective, and set the Owner's program up for future success.
