Each summer, RDG Planning & Design opens its doors to a new group of summer interns who work alongside professionals in various disciplines and across multiple markets, learning directly from seasoned practitioners and getting hands-on experience. 

We’re currently looking for an intern to join our award-winning communications team this summer and contribute to compelling content that helps tell meaningful stories.

RDG’s communications team partners with individuals across the firm to craft and share stories that highlight our people, projects and purpose. Guided by a firmwide strategic plan, the team helps shape RDG’s brand presence through a mix of paid, earned, shared and owned media. By fostering meaningful connections, both internally and externally, the comms team amplifies RDG’s impact, positioning the firm as a thought leader and champion of meaningful work.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in drafting press releases and thought leadership content.

  • Support media relations efforts, including maintaining media lists and monitoring coverage.

  • Contribute to social media content creation, scheduling and engagement tracking.

  • Research industry trends, media opportunities and competitor communication strategies.

  • Review social media analytics to measure content performance and recommend new strategies to improve performance.

  • Collaborate with team members on storytelling and brand initiatives.

Skills & Strengths:

  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling abilities.

  • Attention to detail and ability to organize information effectively.

  • Proactive approach with strong research and analytical skills.

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content strategies.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.

Education & Experience:

  • Third- or fourth-year student pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field.

  • Previous internship or coursework in communications, PR, digital media/marketing or related areas preferred.

  • Experience with writing, content creation or social media management required.
