Lauritzen
Outpatient
Center
The Lauritzen Outpatient Center expands and relocates an existing outpatient surgical environment and clinical services to serve steadily increasing outpatient volumes for the University of Nebraska's complex urban medical campus and teaching hospital.
The Outpatient Facility and Surgery Center is a 4-story building with two levels of underground parking and direct skywalk access to the rest of the University of Nebraska Medical Center's campus. Interior building components are designed to bring together ten or more user groups into a single complex. The public facing side of the project incorporates a concourse that allows for easy access, wayfinding and efficiency that has elevated user experience scores. The project utilized LEAN planning and construction processes that allowed the anticipated 4-year project to be occupied in 2.5 years. The unique process developed for this project has been presented nationally at the ASHE National Conference, SCUP Regional Conference and more.
